The Mississippi Blues Athletic Club (AC) is a professional sport fishing team competing in the Sport Fishing Championship (SFC).
The team's name, "Mississippi Blues," carries a dual meaning, referencing both the iconic Blue Marlin in sport fishing and the rich heritage of Blues music that originated in the Mississippi Delta. Their logo, shaped like a guitar pick and adorned with a blue marlin, further reinforces this connection to the birthplace of blues music.
The Mississippi Blues AC is notably owned by professional golfers Talor Gooch and Harold Varner III. This ownership group is dedicated to bringing a new level of excitement to competitive offshore fishing and growing the sport's fanbase.
The team partners with world-class boat and crew Rising Son’s the highly successful and dedicated professional sport fishing team based out of Orange Beach, Alabama. They compete in some of the most prestigious offshore tournaments, including the Orange Beach Billfish Classic, Mississippi Gulf Coast Billfish Classic, and Emerald Coast Blue Marlin Classic. The team prominently features owner and angler Jaselyn Berthelot, who is a strong advocate for women in fishing and has achieved numerous individual successes.
